For something almost the opposite: I visited a man made lake that had virtually dried up due to drought over about 10 years. It was so low that you could see the original river beds. I discovered by accident an old bridge that's usually hidden well below the waterline.

There was a lot of rain late last year, ironically causing flooding, which has filled the lake back up to capacity again. It was very strange being able to walk over a bridge that had been submerged for 40 years... it's hidden under the water again now...
