I'm watching all of this flooding in the Mississippi area and I'm wondering why someone didn't think to build walls around the fucking river. You already know it's flooded to about "thirty feet" in the past, and you know it's going to flood again. You either don't build there ever again, or you build a fucking wall thirty feet tall - that will stand up to the flood.
It's just like New Orleans. Common fucking sense tells you that you can't build a city below sea level right next to the fucking ocean. You already know it's going to get flooded.
