My father-in-law is a former army colonel. At my second meeting with him, he was showing me his hunting weapons collection. It's all cool though, my in-laws are good people, same as my folks, i/we are very proud of them and we're really grateful for having them in our lives.

I'm sorry to hear that about your father-in-law, it's not the best situation, that's for sure. Have patience, protect your girl and maybe in time, things will get better and he'll change into a better person. Have confidence and be there for your girl, this is much more difficult for her than it is for you, don't forget that.
