Bottom line --- it was a legal kill. Armed or un-armed. Obama did not want him captured. Can you imagine the extra shit he would have to deal with if the Elvis of terrorists was paraded around the US court system and all over TV? Alive, Bin Laden still has power over his flock. He's just a carcass in the ocean now.
He was set to be assassinated from the start, no matter what took place in the compound.
