They were DirecTV access cards
At the time the newest card was the "football" card or H5 card or some shit and no one had cracked it.. so the older "H" card which could be programmed for wide open access was valuable.
It was funny because at the time the new systems were $99 so I would get the older complete systems with the H card for $20 or $30 and complete systems with the card would sell for $400+
I never even had to program a card for anyone. I sold them as "virgin" cards meaning they'd never been tampered with. So I was completely legal. There was that thing about newscorp owning the cards and them not being the equipment owners card to sell or some shit and I think ebay ended up making you sell a system with a card
People wanting to sell cards would just put the system on there and say shipping for card $5 shipping for whole system $200
They were fucking great though, test cards, - you could flip through PPV channels like they were basic cable, no entering codes or anything. Even wealthy people can't do that!
