Even if things trend exactly as they are, the average Chinese income will still be 25% that of Americans. That means that even if America keeps declining and China keeps rising, Americans will still enjoy a much higher standard of living.
Believe it or not, China is trying to copy America, not defeat America. They are desperately trying to figure out how companies like Google and Apple still originate in America and nowhere else. This is what they want.
China got big by building huge, polluting factories, filling them with slave labor, and producing goods that nobody else wanted to build. They didn't get where they are by innovating. And to be number one, you have to innovate.
Not saying it can't happen. But when China starts innovating, then I'll worry. China just builds the products the rest of the world invents.
