Me and about 5 of my friends email each other regularly about many things and investing and trading are two of the subjects. One guy happens to be an excellent stock picker and another guy is excellent with advanced options trades (Iron Condors, Straddles). Whenever someone brings an idea to the table, someone else will usually go off on their own, research it, and come back with questions or to point out some other stuff about the trade or particular stock By repeating that process over and over for about 10 years, and having a bunch of debates, we've all learned a lot.
Aside from selling covered calls on AAPL and EEM, I don't actively trade that much anymore, but I subscribe to several of my favorite writers on Seeking Alpha, which is a good place to find ideas.
