My non-online best return was when I worked for an insurance company. We adjusted some fancy rims from a BMW which suffered some very minor almost invisible warps. The owner kept bitching and nagging the claims office so my boss assigned me to adjust her claim and give her a fat check for a new set. To prevent any "quick moves" on her part, I was instructed to request the rims from the shop she was having the replacement work done at. I asked my boss what I should do with the rims. He said "keep it or get rid of it--just don't let her have them". He signed the disposition form and off I went. So I kept them and put them on recycler.com
$800 for free. Invested time: total of around 2 hours. No cash outlay since my company car and gas was paid for by the company.
That was back in 1993 right after college.
In the online world, best returns = PLR packages and FB goodies.
