And if you use light gfx (or no gfx at all) themes the server load won't be noticeable, but the problem I see is you'll confuse the hell out of your visitors, they'll think they've been tricked and redirected to a different site. Instead of that, try working colors and elements position. Sadly, there's no much you can do on a regular blog in terms of shapes, but try to use rounded corners at least, they've a noticeable CTR difference over square shapes
