just meter the back ground, you can do that easily by using the TTL meter built into most SLR cameras, then adjust your strobes to match those settings.

the shade held over the model is a LOUCHE, you can buy it with varying F-stop, meaning one type will lower the ambient light with 1 f stop, another only 1/2 f stop and so on.
problem is this product is darned expensive..
