I think comparing the environment on the road to the mind altering effects of drug use is a pretty damn big stretch. People that lose themselves to road rage are victims of themselves. They have weak minds and lack self control. If the environment itself was the source, driving would be banned. We can't have the public slaughtering each other on the way to work now can we?
I was a pro driver for nearly ten years. I have over a million professional miles and a crystal clear record. You know how many times in those million miles I got pissed off at the fucking idiots driving their cars? Probably close to a million. Did I ever flip out and kill someone using my 40 ton truck? No... and it wouldn't be pretty scene if I did. The reason I didn't is because it doesn;t matter how pissed off you get. Stable thinking people do not kill other people because they're pissed off... regardless of how much the idiot deserves it.
But drugs change your thinking ability. People that normally are able to think clearly despite momentary rage, quite often are unable to make rational decisions under the influence. You might THINK you can. Doesn't mean you do.
Road ragers that blame the environment and society and all that other shit are copping out to the most convenient scapegoat they can find. It's the era of ditching responsibility after all.
