Libya produces 2% of the worlds oil. Cut that supply and worldwide prices go up 2.5% overnight. That's why I replied what I did as America still has a financial interest in getting Libyan oil supplies going again.

my comment was based on the view that this is being led by uk/france, reason being they have the MOST to gain or lose. since we do not deal directly with libya, we can and are taking a 2ndary role. but due to the fact we are all partners nato- nato partners support nato partners, we can't not participate. not to mention like it or not, the u.s. is the leader of the free world and as such, expected to play a role.
frankly, it's all fucking stupid.
