You can still open a bank account as an oversea business or person, but you got to be lucky to get a manager on the phone and then be extremely well versed, polite and talk the talk. He then have the authority to manually override system checks like requiring a passport to open account for non-citizens.
But the best option is to just take a flight accross the Atlantic and then open up what you need in person, on site. Almost always easier to open up accounts with one of the local branches outside of the big cities like New York, Dallas, Chicago, LA and so on.
Or get a Payoneer account and they can give you an ACH number to receive payments.
Other option is to start up an American based LLC. Then you can use that LLC to open up a bank account and then from your home country you bill the LLC for services rendered and send the money out of the LLC to your home country and thereby make the LLC break exactly even. The LLC would however need to abide to all US laws and file reports and so on with their respective institutions.
