Thats the trouble with british media, they think they need to put black/asian/whatever people in every single show even though the demographics arn't reflected properly.
The beeb is the worst, they actually will start shocking people if they have a programe that doesn't have a black man/white woman couple, they had the queen black in Dr Who which came as no shock to anyone ... Dr Who has gained a name for itself on the net for casting black actors to play anyone in authority (queen, generals, prime minister, ect ..). There is nothing wrong with that of cause but the beeb take it too far, like i said if they think they are doing it for shock value on Dr Who then the shock would have been if the Queen was white.

The sad thing is that the producer of Midsomer Murders is right, an ethnic actor would distroy any reality and it would be obvious that the actor is only there to appease the ethnic minority and the PC brigade. And by the same token, even though Midsomer Murders should be white to reflect the area its based, Eastenders should be totally black.
