Not some, but "ALL."
#1 an aunt making a complaint to the local police and/or child protective services does not validate your FBI task force and prosecuting all satanist groups statement.
Also if you think that this kind of shit only happens to satanists during family custody battles think again.
All kinds of accusations get thrown around when people have an agenda. One favorite is the mother accusing the father of molestation.
My own father who is Christian had his religious beliefs held against him when my mother went after custody of my younger brother.
My dad had to go to court ordered psychiatric counseling because he was a Christian.
Things got real cooky. My brother being only 12 and a goofball as well as a big fan of the DaDa movement invented a language for him and his friends to communicate.
I've heard the phone conversations my mother taped (brother secretly stole them) where she told the court appointed psychiatrist "my son scares me, I think he's speaking in tongues or something."
My mother won custody in the beginning when it went in front of the masters (stupid court system in Texas) but when it got into the real judges chambers my brother was returned to my father that very night.
But the whole thing took well over a year before it was all settled.
Anyway to get back to your post, you cannot be prosecuted for simply being a satanist. However if you're a satanist who intends upon committing or has committed crimes then that's another story.
Investigating satanists is another thing. Nothing stops the government from investigating anyone, some white supremacist groups or militias are religious in nature (according to them) and get investigated all the time.
