I've had the pleasure of being diagnosed with a genetic condition with an median lifespan of 48. The problem is with advances in medicine I'm not so sure I can count on that number being accurate. I like knowing I have a very low chance of hitting old age, really have you seen old people their quality of life suck!!
Dying doesn't scare me at all, even pain can be managed most of the time. I'm terrified of being kept alive but not physically able to function, that does not seem like a good time. Put a bullet in my brain when my body won't let me walk and talk like normal.
