How about this...
Unions in the private sector = good. Unions in the public sector = bad.
In the private sector the company and employees negotiate terms they can both agree upon. Think about it in the terms of mercantilism; there is only one pie, they're all just fighting for a bigger piece. Regardless of who gets the bigger piece, tax payers aren't affected. Corporate bonues vs. employee bonuses are affected but nothing comes out of MY pocket to pay for any of it. The pie cannot grow beyond its means without the ability to draw in additional money.
In the public sector, government employees are going against budgets based on income (taxes) and spending (debt). Unlike a corporation in the private sector, the local and federal government is fueled by tax payer money. When a teacher in Wisconsin is making $50,000 a year with a 401k, medical benefits, retirement benefits, paid vacation, etc. That is coming out of tax payer's pockets. Even if you make less money, you're still paying for their benefits. I work 12 hours a day 12 months a year and my kids go to private schools. Why am I expected to pay for public school teacher's/administrator's benefits? They're not paying for mine or even educating my kid.
I'm all about helping people but this sense of entitlement that has washed over America is making me sick. Pay into your own benefits like most everyone does in the private sector.
Out of all the complaints that were settled by the EEOC last year, over 90% were either State or Federal employees and unlike in the private sector, worker's comp is for life. So here's your key to making it in the U.S. Get a cushy government job, fake a fall and "hurt your back" and collect 80% of your salary plus disability plus social security for the rest of your life. Cha-fucking-ching bitches!!!
