Mikey!! Wow!!! Haven't seen or heard from you in ages. How are you, my friend?? Talk about a long time customer....I bet your customer number is single digits, huh? ;) Thanks for the kudos, Mikey, but it is not necessary. It is what you have paid us for all these years.
As for everyone asking why we don't simply use control panels like all the other hosting companies out there, the reason is simple. Most hosting companies love to push some of the work back onto the customer because it absolves them of responsibility. With that said, they are right in that adding a domain is easy. In fact, we have a script that our techs use to add them that 100% of our customers are smart enough to use if we were so inclined. If we did that, 95% of the time our customers would be perfectly OK...the problem is that 5% of the time something that nobody thought about may pop up. Maybe it is something as easy as a DNS issue....maybe you are adding a domain that has expired from the registry.....those are easy fixes still....but what about the more complicated ones? Let me use this example....if you put in a ticket for us to set up the domain jenniferannistonsextape.com there is a pretty good chance that we would ask you if you really had that video. First, we would want to see it for "research purposes" only! LOL!! But the bigger reason is because if you really had it there is a good chance that we should set up that domain differently due to the obvious popularity of such a site. Maybe we should consider a new server or 10, since it is a single file with a ton of download potential maybe we should consider a CDN. Maybe we need to look into load balancing. NONE of this would come up if you simply used a control panel to input your domain. Having that human element allows us to hopefully stay one step ahead of your needs....which is always our goal. Are we 100%? Sadly, no....but that doesn't mean we will stop trying.
Hope that answers the question.
Thanks everyone who commented!!!
