The United States needs to officially adapt the policy of "If we come to your country, we'll never ever leave". We are still in Germany, and still in Japan. We need to do the same thing in Afghanistan and Iraq - Make it clear to everyone in the Middle East that if we come to your country we'll be there until the end of time. That will make them think twice about attacking the US again.
As for Israel, whatever. Not sure why we support them the way we do.
