I have Marriott Rewards and apart from the free stays and merchandise, depending on your level, you get gifts in your room and if the hotel is full, they will walk someone to make room for you. The program is so desired that couples fight over the points during a divorce.

I belong to other programs as well but Marriott is my first choice, especially for international travel.
