i have seen a script that is very heavily based on the features of MFC but having the same features as a successful site doesn't even slightly increase your chances of becoming successful. Take away the traffic, and the superstar performers and MFC is just another site.

Lazycash already explained the classic chicken and egg scenario that all new site owners encounter and unless you can overcome that and have pretty deep pockets to start with you are pretty much on a hiding to nothing.

With so many sites now, performers are spoilt for choices. Most of them work many sites simultaneously and if you don't constantly make it worth their while to be on your site, they will replace you in the equation with the next newest thing.

Assuming you can overcome this and start running profitably, you then have to worry about fraud. Customer fraud, affiliate fraud, and of course performer and studio fraud. Lack of features in the front end may cost you some lost customers, but lack of solid management behind the scenes will cost you a lot more.

I have looked at pretty much every script available at one time or another and yet to encounter even one that could run an average webcam site with zero back end modification.

Personally between custom built and off the shelf, I would go off the shelf with an established developer (not someone who just cloned the front end of somebody else's site) and then get them to implement the behind the scenes changes that I wanted.

Don't think about how much money you could make, think about the ways that people could take that money from you.
