After President Reagan's military buildup, the Soviet Union did not further dramatically build up its military; the enormous military expenses, in combination with collectivized agriculture and inefficient planned manufacturing, were a heavy burden for the Soviet economy. At the same time, the Reagan Administration persuaded Saudi Arabia to increase oil production, which resulted in a drop of oil prices in 1985 to one-third of the previous level; oil was the main source of Soviet export revenues. That's what brought down the USSR and ended the cold war.
BTW, there was no fall of Russia, it was the USSR
And you're correct, he took a complete opposite direction of Obama, Reagan did things that worked. You can find all the faults you want, Barry is no where near the "leader" that Reagan was.

Well.... in the first 12 days, he ordered closure of Guantanamo, signed exec order prohibiting torture even more, ordered invesitagions into abuse, he rescinded the Mexico City policy, and had several phone/conferences with others relating to nuclear reduction.
That was just to get "nominated" out of 205 others... He won, because of more actions, his help towards changing global opinion, and his promise of disarmament, which he delivered on.
This is the action taken, the effort at peace, exactly what the award is for.
You can stop hating just to hate now.... if you didn't just hate to hate, you may have taken to time to learn this yourself.
Russia, as if it matters what we call it... was going down before Reagan even became President and would have fallen even if he didn't become President. And all the other possible good he might have done went out the door with a nuclear arms build up - when it comes to getting the award.
