Nathan is correct. At least for Pornhub, they (Mansef) did license a shit load of content for that site. I know this for fact because they tried to license mine and I know others who sold them a license for a lot of DVDs.

I believe you. I am obviously wrong about them buying content to launch the site. Who did they buy from? All the content people I talked to and bought from even as recent as 2 years ago would go ape shit if you posted the full length content you bought (err licensed) from them. And I even asked for license to allow clips to be displayed for longing that a couple minutes and it sounded like none of them wanted to do it. Now, its different obviously, curious to see who the content guy was back in 2007 who was cool with letting people display full length scenes in public areas.
