I understand the law here; One of my friends was a anchor baby long before the term was invented. Father came up from Mexico working on a work visa, legally brought his preggo wife with him intentionally so the kid would be a us citizen. That's fine, that's legal.
But being born here illegally should not make anyone a citizen. Not when a crime was commited to make it happen.

There is nothing in the constituition says your parents have to be legal in order for you to become a citizens. The 14th amendment explicitly states that if you are born here POOF you are a citizen. They did it for a good reason. So the qualifications to become a citizen weren't subjected to political whims. If it were 100 years ago people would be complaining about the Irish immigrants "ruining" our country.
