Fred Phelps is a living, breathing non sequitur; the only connection he needs between a person's death and his absurd ideological agenda (if you can call it that) is the one that gets made in that rotting hunk of misfiring synapses and neurons between his ears.
As you noted in another of your posts, one of the biggest problems with Phelps is that people keep giving him the attention he wants, which just encourages him to go on doing his thing.
You're quite right -- the best thing to do with this bozo is to pretend he does not exist. I really, really wish the national media would do so. Or, as I put it in a
blog post about Phelps and his imbecilic followers a few years back:
