Where's the bullshit button?

How do you account then for all the Christians killing Christians in the name of God?

The Romans killed Christ. Live with it. They CRUCIFIED him. They also wrote the bible. Ever heard of propaganda? The bible is full of it.

Romans ruled Europe for well over a 1,000 years. In that time they wrote the New Testament and filled it with lies. They then executed or persecuted anyone who argued against them. They wanted to burn Galileo for saying the Earth revolved around the sun. They just imprisoned him and burnt others WHO WERE SAYING WHAT WAS RIGHT. They tried to keep people ignorant.

The only reason was wealth. Anyone who has stood inside St Peters in Rome knows what that place cost and was worth. Henry the 8th kicked the Catholic Church out of England to grab the wealth the churches had acquired. The divorce also helped, but by then Katherine had dies and Anne Boleyn was his legitimate wife.

And if you have been to Salt Lake City and seen the Mormons church you would know the money grabbing still goes on. Religion = MONEY.

I watch way too much day time TV.
For all the reasons you wrote there I learned to question everything about my faith and... this will sound silly I am sure, prayed for knowledge. After years of studying the Bible I came to my own person conclusion that the only parts relevant to me was what is written in red (in a study Bible) and some of that is questionable. The Church equals a money making and power whoring proposition.

Having said that, a true Christian, who has read and believes the Bible would not be coming here talking about eternal damnation for our sins, but would be expressing unfaltering love for each and every one of us and showing us a glimmering example of His love and forgiveness
