The best thing that will ever happen to you is when you become an atheist. You need to understand that there is no God, and that the Bible is a convoluted storybook written by people to control people. Religion by it's very nature was designed to provide direction for weak-minded people, who need to be led. I believe in the most powerful god of all, and that is myself. I'm the one that makes the decisions in my life, and I'm the one that controls my fate. I believe in myself, therefore I transcend the need for religion.

Why don't you read a great book called God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything. You will also want to pick up The God Delusion. You might also find Godless: How an Evangelical Preacher Became One of America's Leading Atheists quite inspirational in your quest for the Truth.

All of these books are highly rated, and will provide a much more profound basis for your life's direction.
