I've gotten dozens of groupons, just depends on what comes about for your area. Some deals are just alright, while others are really great offers that you'd otherwise never be able to get anywhere else. Groupon generally expects the business to offer their product/service for a minimum 50% off, and Groupon takes around 50% of the reduced product price as their fee. So basically, the business is generally providing the groupon as a loss leader marketing tool since they are only ending up with 25% of whatever they are offering.
