I'll freely admit that despite working hard all year on various "adaptation" strategies, I'm not happy with my results so far.

A few years ago I was making 90% of my income selling porn subscriptions on the revshare plan using mostly still picture promo content, marketed to surfers via a wide variety of free websites, mostly blogs.

Obviously, that's not working as well as it used to. I'm still making a living at it, but instead of living high it's more of a subsistence deal than I like, and I'm working a fuck-ton harder at it ... while trying to spend as much productive energy as possible working on NEW models, for all the obvious reasons.

Many of you bastards don't even seem to have twigged to the fact that the very concepts of the desktop computer and the web browser are rapidly becoming obsolete. I myself spent far too long going "I need new products to promote on my websites" and then "I need to rejigger my websites because my traffic is falling" before I began to figure out that the problem was more fundamental and I needed to adapt on a more fundamental level.

Unfortunately, for me that requires tech skills that are a heavy stretch -- HTML5, app development, and a much stronger understanding of the mobile ecosystem.

I am working on it. But progress is slow, painful, and so far, unsatisfactory.

Fortunately, as the old joke goes, I don't have to outrun the bear... I just have outrun the other guy. And looking around, I think I still have a fair shot at that.
