Not really. It's just that they more often than not don't work well in MMA since it can lead to a takedown or nice KO punch if you miss your mark or get beat to it. So you don't see them very often. It's a bit like the flying armbar in a way but not quite THAT bad or rare. If you like to see head kicks K1 is usually the better bet.
