Actually I bet Dave's a big car guy. Cmon, how long can a SoCal guy like Dave resist this 454 and 440's talk from a midwestern guy like me.

I am a hardcore GM guy... your motor depending on what cam is in it MIGHT make slightly under 300whp with that enormous carb on it...
Which is still less than what the LS1 motors make stock.
Gearing will get you out of the hole, but an overwhelming amount of horsepower and torque in any other cars favor will slingshot them past you after 330'.
I have 3.27 gears in my car and it will still 1.5 60' on the motor.
