You are convinced that the US soldiers would not of had blanks. What if just some of them had "some" magazines with blanks for the cameras? If they did not encounter resistance they simply change magazines.

I am convinced because under no circumstances would blanks be used in a possibe hostile AO. The military does not operate that way...period. When they insert troops live rounds are used and they recon by fire and lay out a covering field of fire. That is SOP and what would be the purpose of using blanks in the first place? In addition if you were using blanks in front of a camera that would be a dead give away that the operation was staged as blanks do not have the recoil that live rounds have...so any former soldier that saw a video of someone firing blanks would be aware that blanks were being used.
I repeat that Special Operation Forces use live rounds during training exercises...they do not use blanks. Even Regular Army Forces often train using live rounds
