Mbeki didn't believe HIV/AIDS existed. He brought together a round table of 'experts', many who were well known AIDS denialists. He and the health minister at the time blocked nationwide treatment strategies, FREE drug treatment for hospitals, and obviously prevention efforts suffered as well.
Check your sources. Mbeki's failure on the treatment of the HIV/AIDS crisis in South Africa is well documented.
