Anybody who has ran an active forum knows...
-Too much change = bad
-Giving the members everything they ask for = bad
A forum admins job is harder than you think... between whining members and enforcing rules as fairly as possible... an admin is not going to jump at the opportunity to make his job harder.
GFY is fine the way it is, actually I think they could trim down some of those ghost town forums to make the home page look neater... but other than that it's fine. Threads like this bring in views, and that is the pure uncut purpose of this site.
