I did, can't remember which airlines it was. My shoes did stay on there.

I don't think Europe has had planes hijacked and flown into their buildings killing thousands of people or others with shoe and underwear bombs trying to blow up their planes. Obviously walking through a regular metal detector / scanner only picks up.... metal.

What is the problem with some security measures to try to keep everyone safe? You people either are really too uptight, naive, or don't like when big bad govt makes you do something, even if it is for your own good.
