I don't really thing she is. The GOP still views her as a huge contributing factor to McCain's loss. People love to throw her name around in the press because of the media attention she gets, but alot of her ratings draw is also from people who loathe her as well. In the end very few people are really going to vote for an idiot who has to write bullet points to remind herself what she stands for on her hand.

It's probably not a hugely known national fact, but it's pretty well known locally in certain circles that Crist is gay.
McCain was eying him for VP and Crist got engaged to a woman to try and silence the rumors but on the national stage it would come out and destroy him.
