Now votes are less likely to be bought and special interest will have less power to get those earmarks, this is a "GOOD" thing
It means bipartisanship will have to work, also, Democrats are not organized, never have been, the the GOP is split in half right now because of the Tea Party. Something like this can bring them to work together or not get anything done. Anyway you look at it, politics will change, A LOT

At least those bargaining chips are in the open. Closing down the earmarks will force everything, even more, to the back room.
