Actually you can " Buy " your way into NASCAR and they welcome new teams as long as you play by their rules.
What you can't buy is your position on the track so if you don't perform well others are not willing to sponsor you.
If you're stuck in that position than you can only race as long as " your " money lasts.
If he's doing it just for a stunt he's in for a rude awakening if he thinks he will do any good.
Ricky Charmichael is going about it the right way and so far has been doing a great job.
Danica Patrick went straight to the Nationwide series and has been doing ok for going that route but still has a long way to go to be competitive.
Juan Montoya is about the only one that has been able to jump in and be competitive.
My prediction is Pastrana will see just how tough NASCAR is and will bow out quickly after losing interest. One thing is for sure and that is he will be a lot of fun to watch.
