All I was saying is that everything the US Military does is being said to be done in the name of freedom and democracy. This is always the selling point. Even when its a bunch of predator drones strafing villages in the Afghan mountains or blowing up a restaurant that Saddam is thought to be sitting in, even when its clearly going to kill scores of innocent people or whatever.

I was more saying that the rhetoric is very often inconsistent with the reality... and the reality if more often than not a matter of perspective. Its very safe to say that the middle east is not impressed with any attempts to force "freedom" and "democracy" on them.
Top quote is what you said, the reality is that it's more than most anyone thinks, the military is something we have to have. And on a Submarine, like I was, it was 24/7 hazardous duty. I wasn't there to kill people, my Sub only had weapons that could be used on other ships. As far as the drones, you're blaming the administration would be closer to the truth, not the people that fly them, it's not their decision.

Love talking to some of the old timers from WWII , one guy is in his 90's I know, he was on a sub that went into a Japanese Harbor to blow up a ship, had to launch 3 torpedoes till one hit. At the beginning of WWII, torpedoes were shit for accuracy

Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
think about that
