Nearly 59 million Americans went without health insurance coverage for at least part of 2010, many of them with conditions or diseases that needed treatment, federal health officials said on Tuesday.

I'm one of those 59 million. Have not had insurance for over a year and guess what? Saved over $1,500 which I've used to help my family in their tough times.
My brother hasn't had insurance for several years. Went to the emergency room for meningitis or some shit about 5 years ago, hasn't paid a dime for it. My father came here from Arkansas to get major surgery done, turned into at least a few major surgeries, and AFAIK never paid a dime for that either. That's what your insurance/tax dollars are paying for.
Not that I believe people should be leeches off the system, but I myself am a young healthy 28 year old so honestly don't really need insurance.
Car insurance on the other hand is badly necessary given how people drive around here.
