I don't let him swear, and I have never heard a bad word come out of his mouth, though he did admit to me several times that he swears around his friends. Spitting... now that is just stupid, he should know better.

My parents never heard me swear either. Heck, they still don't and trust me I have a potty mouth.
The spitting thing my mom would have been upset about because of it being 'rude' but I think she would have gotten over the swearing if I ever let her hear it back then.
