Sorry if this is old news, but looks very interesting considering the US govt, which I think is against a porn-only domain, could decide on its fate after ICANN deferred voting on the proposal until December, referring the domain to its governmental Advisory Committe (GAC).

The GAC is an advisory body, but ICANN is bound by its bylaws to take its opinions seriously. If the GAC arrived as a consensus against .xxx, it could hurt the domain's chances of being approved.

Make more noise folks - the GAC had already asked ICANN whether there was sufficient support from the community, which could have been important for them referring it back to the GAC...
