Well wordpress is by default, a CMS for a blog. A landing page is your lead-capture page. It's the page where you make the money. Where on that page, if they click what you want them to (the whole point of it), then they just put money in your pocket.
This may not be the same with Adult sites but it depends on what type of site you have. I could talk about this for hours
