1) Hire a lawyer and plead innocent (that'll buy him some time).
2) Get a copy of his CA license.
3) Go to another state, get an apartment and apply for a drivers license there.
4) Show up for his hearing in CA.
5) Give the judge his original CA license, do whatever jail time is required (if any) and then leave the state and never look back.
