I think what they're saying is they would of done the same as a 15 year old kid. Not as a 37 year old teacher.
I do think most do have double standards when it comes to sex.
Imagine a 15 year old son comes home with love bites on his neck and a look on his face that says he's had sex and it's "well done son". A daughter comes home 15 minutes later in the same state and all hell break loose. This can be applied at even a later age. Parents still want their daughters to save it for the right guy and their sons to get as many notches on their belt as possible. Which means with someone else's daughter giving it away.
But the law is the law and the teacher should be punished.
