You are historically and literally correct but theologian Violet Blue is speaking on a different plane.
Jesus was a Jew. All his immediate followers were Jews. His entire mission was to the Jews. And they've been the one group most resistant to recognizing him as God and Messiah. Each Jew who keeps on being Jewish, in the word of a medieval Christian theologian, "crucifies Jesus anew each day in his unbelief."
Jews are the one group who can recognize and validate the claims made for Jesus by Christianity. Because we refuse to do so, and with Islam also, we are hated by Christians and Muslims.
