SAN JOSE, CA - (NBC) –California parents said an off-duty San Jose police officer showed up at their home and handcuffed their son, but the arrest was fake.

The 15-year-old boy's parents said that the motorcycle cop found out their teen was having sex with his 14-year-old stepdaughter.

He responded by showing up at their home in full-uniform, handcuffing their son, and berating him. He told the boy that he had already warned him to stay away from his daughter.

The boy's stepfather recorded parts of the Aug. 30 fake arrest incident on his cell phone and gave the video to the Mercury News.

The video shows the boy sitting in handcuffs in his family living room.

"Not a good thing that the person you had sex with is a cop's daughter," the officer said to the boy. "The DA will probably file charges. A cop's daughter is not somebody you mess around with. You're stupid."

According to the paper, the officer told the boy's mother when she opened the door that night that he was going to arrest their son for sexual assault.

After the incident, the cop removed the cuffs, and he pulled the parents aside.

He told them he just wanted to scare the boy and gave them an arrest card, suggesting they put it on the fridge as a reminder of the incident.

The cop's lawyer, Terry Bowman, said his client was doing the boy's parents a favor so he "doesn't continue down the wrong path."

After the incident was reported to police internal affairs, the boy was arrested for unlawful sexual intercourse.

The San Jose DA's office is reviewing the case. The officer has been put on administrative leave during the investigation.
