Can you possibly be this narrow minded to be unable to see that drug abuse fucks of thousands of lives every day. I would say the thousands of babies born addicted, or the guy going to work that is killed by the crackhead, is a little more of a repercussion then Lindsey spending a month in Jail.
And as far as Lindsey is concerned, she is not going to jail because she had some coke, she is in jail because she basically said fuck you to the court, which instead of sending her to jail told her to go get her shit cleaned up.

MILLIONS of people do recreational drugs with nothing bad happening. A tiny, tiny fraction of people are drug ADDICTS. They are born with a predisposition to addiction. It doesn't matter if it's drinking, smoking, recreational drugs, or prescription drugs...the small percentage of folks with that physiology are going to get addicted to something no matter what. I have a brother who is like that.
But to punish the overwhelming majority of people who can and DO get high without being "addicts" or whatever worst case scenarios you can find is total BULLSHIT.
FAR more people are addicted to alcohol and even worse PRESCRIPTION drugs than recreational drugs.
And for the record...I have toured all over this country in my bands, lived in "coke central" Miami during the 1980's, and even toured Peru (best coke I've ever done) in 1984.
Out of millions of people I partied with over the last 30 years all over this country, I never met even ONE person who was addicted to powder cocaine.
Crack cocaine? Yep. Meth? Yep.
Powder cocaine. Not one.
Are there any? I've read that. But never saw it.
Saw thousands and thousands of alcoholics. Many who COMPLETELY destroyed their lives.
Do I think alcohol should be "illegal"? FUCK NO. It's none of my goddamn business if a person destroys themselves. Hell, we couldn't be winners in life if it weren't for losers.
