any structured form of learning can be beneficial in the sense that it teaches you discipline.

i went to college for biz and with a degree (back about 10 years ago) i made 40k starting out. being in this biz, i have made far more. most of what is taught in college is not always what happens in the work force. they dont teach you how to handle the long hours, how to put together a comprehensive analysis of a company, how to handle the various personalities in an important meeting. what they do teach you are the basics at best and yes i went to a very accredited college and still i have gained more on this end then i did in college cause college doesnt teach you life experiences!
