I've explained things to them in many different ways... sometimes bringing in various things as references. I once brought in a live scorpion as a model.
So please don't presume that just because I didn't draw the thing that it has no meaning. I've participated in every single one of them to at least some degree. Some of them I've actually partially inked myself.

then i would be very interested in seeing your ink.
for all of my tats i have always started with an idea and worked from there. and always by the time i went to talk to the different tattooists in the area i had drawings and designs to show them so that i could give them a very good idea of what i wanted.
there are some very good tattooists around my area...but i dont think i could ever trust someone no matter how skilled they are in bringing my tattoo to life with just a few thoughts on what i want.
i guess what bothers me here is the idea of someone seeing a picture and thinking it would be cool to have it on their body. it reminds me of someone picking out a tat from one of the pictures in a tattooists portfolio.
